Amazing, this four-disc extended version is still available! Now for $39 (only for $17 used). And Disc Three alone - C.S. Lewis: Dreamer of Narnia - still continues to be worth the price of the entire set. With Lucy Barfield or without!

A month ago, accidentally passing this topic, I clicked my Amazon link. And I could not believe - this four disk version was still available: new for $15, used from $6.74. I searched for my own almost forgotten set and watched the Disc Three again. My impression again was overwhelming, exactly the same as when I was trying to describe it here on 2007 February 28th. Immediately I ordered three more gifts. Used-Like-New - each for less than $13.

"The best, most interesting, most entertaining commentary about C.S. Lewis and the Chronicles of Narnia yet made". "A new approach to Lewis, his life and his books". "The most awe-filled image of Aslan yet produced". "A dream, a painting, a symphony". "Captivating and delightful". And so on. Whatever Paul F. Ford or anyone else said in the 30 posts right here three years ago is still (almost!) absolutely true.

There are also 513 customer five star reviews of this set at Amazon. And a short story of Lucy Barfield at Wikipedia.

You still can find all four disks for $33 at Amazon; they say you can still place orders until inventory runs out. As I just did.

Just rechecked - amazing, this four-disc extended version is still available! Now for $39 (for only $17 used). And the Disc Three alone - C.S. Lewis: Dreamer of Narnia - still continues to be worth the price of the entire set. With Lucy Barfield or without!

I watched it "only" four times so far. But gave away five copies as a gift.

P.S. Is it legitimate to offer the direct link to Amazon? If not I will erase it immediately: http://www.amazon.com/Chronicles-Narnia ... 087&sr=1-6

Reep, I have no idea what you mean by this. Please could you explain? The dedication has not changed. Or are you saying that some editions have changes?

Yes, dear carol, loeee is correct. Dedication certainly will never change! Only being moved (swept away?) by the tremendous love of C.S. Lewis, which the producer seemed trying to convey, I read his words in a fresh and for me completely unexpected way. Which for Lucy Barfield herself most probably was evident immediately.

And just as his love of God and of people made him so popular and influential in his other writings, so his love "for this little girl" was, as he himself says, the main motive and the starting point of the Chronicles.

P.S. I wish you could see her picture! And by the way - then and there I just wanted to share my, it seemed, unusual experience. I never intended "to criticize the entire symphony"; in fact - after seeing it - I bought and gave away four more copies of the entire set. One of them reached Lithuania just in time for Easter; only three days ago.
