And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.

I agree that Jack was a product of his times. The sexes were seperated more in those days and with his specility being medeviel studies that could cloud his veiws also.

I'm afraid I don't understand. I am a woman and I find nothing to offend in anything that Lewis has ever said, or not said, or implied about women. How is his view of the role of women offensive to those to whom his views were not even related? I am merely asking for clarification.
