…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.

I don't know about the Mountain god being 'nice' .. the immediate line that sprung to mind when I read that was Sam's line about elves in LOTR: 'They seem a bit above my likes and dislikes.' I just can't see the Mountain god being 'nice' in the sense of understanding an ugly princess's fears and feelings about herself. More, I imagine that he would have been angry .. that he would have smote the mountain and destroyed both her and the town. But - I dunno, that's my perception working there :)

"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best -- " and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.

"I don't care if it is wrong," said one of the moles. "I'd do it again."
"Hush, hush" said the other animals.
