Howdy, bruce.

I've got an edition that has that foreword, so I suppose I must have read it, but I don't really recall having done so. I find myself doubting how interesting or useful a foreword to MC could be.

At any rate, you can read the foreword at Amazon.com by using the Online Reader: .

Just search for xviii, the second page of the foreword, click on the returned result, go back one page (to the first page of the foreword), and you should be able to view till page xix. For the last page, just search for xx and click on the returned result. Voila--you've just read the foreword.

Isn't Amazon great?
