Into the Wardrobe

I haven't really understood some of the controversy over The Dark Tower. Is there a question as to the authenticity of only The Dark Tower or is there a question of all of the "other stories"? I love After Ten Years! I wish it had been completed. To me, it is similar to Till We Have Faces in retelling a myth. Sorry if this has been addressed, but maybe the controversy could use a fresh look.
