Quote about the loss of his mother

Quote about the loss of his mother

Postby samhazy » 18 Nov 2004, 16:27

Can anyone help me with a quote Mr. Lewis made about the loss of his mother? It had to do with how his life changed irrevocably after his mother died -- how life still could be joyful etc. but that it was never the same thereafter?

A friend lost his grandmother recently (who held the same place in his heart as a mother) and that quote gave me much comfort when my mother died so I would like to pass it along to him.

Thanks in advance?

With my mother's death all settled happiness, all that was tranquil and reliable disappeared from my life. There was to be much fun, many pleasures, many stabs of joy; but no more of the old security.

That's it!! Thank you so very much. I'm sure my friend will understand the sentiment.
