Into the Wardrobe

I am working on my thesis and cannot track this quote "Joy is the perfume that is left when God passes by." I may have it off a bit but that is the gist.

The closest thing I can find is: "Joy is a perfume that you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself", which is one of those anonymous internet quotes. In any case, neither that nor what you've written sounds like it came from C.S. Lewis' pen. Joy is a wonderful (and expensive) perfume, however. :)
