Is the book, Undeception: Essays on Theology and Ethics, the same book as God in the Dock: Essays on Theology and Ethics? If not, they apparently contain the same essays. I think I read somewhere that it was published under Undeception with one publisher and under God in the Dock under another publisher.

Right, Solomon's Song,
Undeceptions was the title for the first UK edition, put out by Geoffrey Bles. The first US edition came out the year before, it and the later UK editions had the God in the Dock: Essays on Theology and Ethics title. Not to be confused with the other God in the Dock: Essays on Theology that came out in 1979 with about a fourth the number of essays (guess they though there wasn't any more market for ethics :) ).

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.
