Try Companion to Narnia (HarperCollins, 1994) and The C. S. Lewis Readers' Encyclopedia (Zondervan, 1998).

The reason I sent you to Companion to Narnia (HarperCollins, 1994) and The C. S. Lewis Readers' Encyclopedia (Zondervan, 1998) is because the latter has an entire entry on the book which summarizes the main issues and the former has entries on Aslan, Shasta, Aravis, Bree, Hwin, Sexism, and related topics that would help you.

HHB is my favorite.
