"What are you laughing at?"
"At myself. My little puny self," said Phillipa.

It would take pages and pages to detail all the Christian elements in the Chronicles of Narnia.

For starters, Aslan is the incarnation of God in Narnia. He does things similar to what Christ does: heals the sick, dies for a traitor, is resurrected, and helps his followers, to name a few.

If you explore the Narnia forum, read what's already posted, and ask questions there, you may find what you're looking for. You could also look at the Papers tab on the top menu bar of this website, where you can find some very interesting and informative essays about Lewis and his writings. And as you read and re-read the books, look for reflections of what you know of Christianity.

Hi Guest - Lewis' books are most definitely Christian. If you know Christian people who have his books, they may have some sort of commentary book on the Narnia stories, which will include an introduction to how he was explaining about the excitement and joy of the Christian life in these books. If you know much about who Jesus is, and what He did, you will recognise someone in the books who is rather like him.... and so on. There are several guide/commentary books available in book stores if you are really keen!

I am a Roman Catholic, too, but I got my doctorate in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, America's largest interdenominational Evangelical Seminary, have great Jewish and Orthodox Christian friends, and work on an interfaith council locally.

If you have time, you can borrow my book, Companion to Narnia, from the library (get the fourth edition, 1994; the fifth edition will be out this summer). You can also go to my website and look under C. S. Lewis: http://www.pford.stjohnsem.edu/
