The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe

Is it true that in earlier versions of the book, the author uses a different name than in the more current versions? My daughter was told to find out this information for extra credit in school, and she can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, sorry. Let me be more specific. Maugrim had a different name in earlier published book of the Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe. What name did he go by?

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.
