magic and christianity

My question runs as follows : How is the relationship between being a christian writer , writing books - both for children and grown ups( not necissarily whit a sort of preaching voice) - where magic is the basis of the story ? I ' ve read in my encychopledia that magic has to do whit occultism . And second - is it ok that different beings in these stories have got powers only God himself has got in reality ? Is'nt that feeding childrens fantasies whit lies .My english is not quite good , but i hope you understood my question .
