Good question. Unfortunately, he died before I was even born.

Curlie, one of the biographies tells how the writer spoke to CSLewis (who was his tutor at university). It's called "Jack" by G. Sayer.

When I first read the books, I did not know Lewis had died about 6 years before I was born. I had even started a letter to him, and then discovered that I could not send it, as he had died. That was a terrible disappointment to me.

When I discovered the book, C.S. Lewis: Letters to Children, I have to admit I felt a pang of envy that these kids had been able to carry on a correspondence with the man I considered my mentor in the Christian faith. I would have loved to talked with or corresponded with him, even once.
