Out of the Silent Planet

Out of the Silent Planet

Postby cheeta921 » January 16th, 2006, 12:25 am

Hello... I'm a 9th grader in english honours... we have a test on OotSP VERY soon.... but i don't have my book any more (my brother lives w/ my dad, and he has it) but i would like to know. I know that Elwin Ransom ended up at the house after an old lady sent him to look for her son... but i can't remember what was happening to the son... if you could tell me, I would be extreemly grateful, if you can't, then thank you for trying.

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.
