source of a CS Lewis quote

source of a CS Lewis quote

Postby avlily » February 2nd, 2006, 10:40 am

Hello Everyone-
I am trusting an expert on this forum knows the answer to this question. I heard a speaker quote CS Lewis regarding character defects or sins. He said that saying you don't have a particular sin/defect is like banging on the basement door before you open it to scare the rats way and then saying you don't have rats. I know this might not make much sense, but if anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be much appreciative.

Lewis wrote to Chad Walsh in 1948:
"People won't write the books I want, so I have to do it for myself: no rot about 'self-expression'."
"My brain and this world don't fit each other, and there's an end of it!" - G.K. Chesterton
