Lucy's first visit to Narnia as a separate story?

Lucy's first visit to Narnia as a separate story?

Postby Guest » 27 Aug 2006, 07:09

Many years ago I had a beautiful illustrated children's book which, unless my memory is really playing me false (possible!), featured the story of Lucy's first visit to Narnia and tea with Mr. Tumnus as a separate, discrete, and as I recall very charming and beautifully illustrated narrative. There was no suggestion that it was just part of a larger story, and it was a few years later that I discovered it was just the beginning of a much longer story.

I'd love to find that children's book again, especially now I have a child of my own to introduce it to. But what was the book? Does anyone else remember seeing such a "tea with Mr Tumnus" story? Help would be much appreciated!

Sure, Amazon is selling it new, here. Be sure and get a whole set of the Chronicles while you're at it, your kid will want to read them all, soon

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.
