New film

New film

Postby Eustance » 06 Feb 2007, 19:10

I was shoked to find out, who is playing Caspian in the next film, and all so, that Andrew Adamson, doen't want to make the next movie "the voyage of the dawn treader". Shouldn't Caspian be just as old as he is on the book?
I all so reed that this movie will by darker, wich I think it's not very well, I wonder what would Lewis say about the using of hes book's? I don't think he will agree a "darker" film, 'cuz narnia it's fild with light, want it or not, the meaning of the hole tail is christian, and using it for other isuess will just erase the esence of the Narnian history.

I wonder where you read this?
Have you been following the news on Narniaweb?

I would like to make three basic points, and hope you will be reassured.

1. Mr Adamson would very much like to make more Narnia movies, but he is not in any way obliged to spend the next ten years doing them. He has other film projects he'd like to do too. And working on a major movie is an exhausting task!

2. The issues of casting, changes etc, have been discussed on Narniaweb for a while now. You would probably find it helpful to look there. http://www.narniaweb.com

3. The Narnia books are not intended to be some sort of religious manual, but were written to give children a sense of the excitement and joy found in the christian life. You said "the meaning of the hole tail is christian", which is not quite true. In fact "the meaning of the whole tale" is both a christian idea and a simple but great story.
