My Author Study

My Author Study

Postby kmaus » 02 Mar 2007, 19:11

I am in 8th grade and doing an author study on C.S. Lewis. One of the assignments requires me to write a letter to the author, and try to get a response.

Since I can't write to C.S. Lewis, I thought I would post a message and I hope that someone who loves Lewis' work will respond to me.

Here's my question:

If you could be a character in one of his books, which character would you be and why?

Nice try kmaus.

I think you will have to use your own imagination for this one.

There's nothing to stop you writing a letter TO Lewis. You could ask the things you'd like to ask if he were alive. Just don't post it.

Perhaps you could check out your city library for collections of his Letters - find some replies to children who had written to him in the 1950s? perhaps these would fit in with what you would have asked him?

(If not, maybe read one of the biographies; I'd suggest "Jack's Life" by D.Gresham 2005, as the easiest to get into. Then try to write the reply he would have written to you.)

Best wishes.
