Last Chapter of Last Battle

Last Chapter of Last Battle

Postby Ruben » 11 May 2007, 16:34

I read the books a while ago and I remember in the last chapter of the last battle there is a quote that talks about how it seems sad that the book is ending but really it's just the first page of the book? Can anyone find the exact quote please?

I don't have the book at hand, but I'm sure that quote is on the last page of it. :-)

Excerpt from The Last Battle by C. S. Lewis, Copyright 1956, chapter 16,"Farewell to Shadowlands" wrote:And as He spoke He no longer looked to them like a lion; but the things that began to happen after that were so great and beautiful that I cannot write them. And for us this is the end of all the stories, and we can most truly say that they all lived happily ever after. But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story which no one on earth has read: which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.

Just before the quote mentioned above, Aslaan says one of my favorite quotes from all the Narnia books:

"The term is over: the holidays have begun. The dream is ended: this is the morning."
