Does anyone know the quote that is something like: the saints are all different but the bad people in history have all been the same.
Thanks

Are you sure you're not thinking of the first sentence of Anna Karenina: "Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way"?

Anyway, that's what that reminds me of.

Welcome, guest!

Perhaps this is what your thinking of?

C. S. Lewis wrote:Good people know about both good and evil: bad people do not know about either.

Mere Christianity, Book III, chapter 4 'Morality and Psychoanalysis'
Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

I found it in Mere Christianity book 4 chapter 11
"How monotonously alike all the great tyrants and conquerors have been: how gloriously different are the saints."
Thanks for all your help
