You're not perhaps referring to the Zug Powerbook Prank, are you?

Caveat: Zug.com isn't always the cleanest site, if you know what I mean.

Hi, Lara!

There have been several "scam the scammer" stories around, including this one, which tricks the scammer into getting a tattoo that represents the church of the person he's trying to get money from.

Perhaps this is the one you're referring to?

Good to see you again.

I was close! The specific story you're referring to is this one:

Hi John!
Nice to see you again too. Yes, you've got it exactly right, thanks for finding it. I did try to search it, but I called it "Nigerian scam" and nothing came up. Its so good to read that again.

Thank you, Respectabiggle, for the PPP-powerbook scam, which I thoroughly enjoyed!
Thanks again,
Lara
