Dear all,

I have heard that, either during his wife's illness or after she passed away, Mr Lewis said or wrote something to the effect "It's not that this (the illness and her passing) has caused me to doubt God; on the contrary, it is only now that I am learning who He really is" (or "how He really operates" or something to that effect).

Any help tracing such a comment would be much appreciated. Thanks!

My guess would be in the second half of A Grief Observed.
"What are you laughing at?"
"At myself. My little puny self," said Phillipa.
