Old Robert Zimmerman ( AKA: Bob Dylan)

From Karen
quote]While some of his lyrics are very good, I find Dylan's voice incredibly grating. I watched Scorcese's documentary about him when it was on TV a couple of weeks ago, and Dylan seemed to be quite bemused by the persona he had created. But...get some voice lessons, Bobby!
[/quote]

I consider Bob Dylan the Michael Crichton of the music world ;) Poor Bob should let others sing his songs and Michael should let others write his books!

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.

Hi again Simmer

I think you need to make a distinction between criticising an individual and that individual's art. I believe that art is offered to us for the provocation of thought and feeling, not just for happy, sugary responses.

On that other hand, you need to hold yourself to your own standard. You berate us for criticising someone who will never, in all likelihood, know anything about it, whilst you describe our behaviour (actual human beings whom you are addressing personally) as spiritually suspect.
