…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.

Stanley,

Thanks for your post. You know how much I value the fellowship, sharing, candor, and vigorous debate here. I find that this place has become rather important to me.

However, I stand by what I said. The manner of Malcom's post (not its content), I find unacceptable.

With great regret, if this sort of post will be judged within bounds, I will have to re-evaluate future participtation of mine in the Wardrobe.

Now, I am not making anyone else responsible for such a decision, should I make it. Just letting folks know where I am -- and that I am serious.

Once again, I have no problem with the validity of my own Holy Orders and participation in the Sacrament of the Eucharist being debated -- or fully candid statements offered on various perspectives thereon.

With gratitude and genuine affection,

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.
