[quote="Steve"]There's also the idea that Jesus emptied himself of much of his divine nature to become a man.

Reminds me of the time one of my Divinity lecturers pointed out the theological 'unsoundness' of the hymn 'And can it be.' There's a reference to Christ 'emptying himself' of 'all but love' which of course he didn't: he retained his divinity.

Was Jesus Omniscient? Since I sadly am no theologian either, I can only share with you what I believe....The Greatest Miracle Of All: John 1:1,3,14.
The Creator enters creation. The Incarnation is without doubt the greatest miracle in the Bible-God became flesh and dwelt among us.
Why: 1) Because we never could begin to comprehend God otherwise.
2) Because we needed someone to neutralize sin's power to destroy.
3) Because humankind is unable to restore itself without a rescuer. Jesus came, the just to the unjust, that we might come to God.

Merry Christmas everyone. Lets all try to remember that the reason for Christmas is to celebrate the birthday of Jesus, without whom there would be no hope for mankind.
