I was confirmed as a teenager too, it's just a way of saying to your Church family "I'm commited to being a Christian". In my confirmation I was baptised with water, this would mean nothing if you didn't welcome in the Spirit at the same time which sadly I don't think I did conciously but since then I have recgnised the sin in that. I was lying because I was clearly not ready to be a Christian but now I have submitted my future to God.
