Wow. That is very humbling. I feel like getting a big stick and beating myself just so that I can bear it with patience and joy. ;)

“And turn their grief into song?" he replied. "That would be a gracious act and a good beginning."

Well, blessed be me on this day of days, that I am not of the faith of this St. Francis! For I have read another tale, of St. Mary of the Angels, gone to the door expecting nothing, but the dead body of a Christ made myth by the hands of man, to stand instead before the open tomb and hear the words from the spirit arrayed in lightning, saying, "he is risen from the dead!"

"Ask, and it will be given to you, seek; and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."

I can only see a red x. But hey, I am always up for a bit of self-flagellation :D

Today I went to IKEA and hid in the wardrobes, and every time someone opened the doors I welcomed them to Narnia!!

Hi Tony,

You wouldn't be the first or the least to be awed by St Francis, and I'd not be the the first to think he was a fanatic. Mind you, if Christ were with us again, no doubt I'd think him a fanatic also.

What would Jesus do if he was here again? Much the same as last time. He would attract me for as long as I could get something from him for free. After that, he'd embarass me, terrify me, confuse me, repel me, infuriate me. Just like last time. I'm no better than my fathers.

Jo: the page in the picture is quoted here (in a slightly different translation)

http://www.paxetbonum.net/fioretti_text_E.html#8 You can cruise up and down to the rest of Fioretti. It's chapter VIII that Tony has in the picture.

I think you're supposed to interpret the red "X" you see as a red cross.
