Wow...and here I thought 'memes' were just stupid little quizzes people posted in their Livejournals. ;)

Actual memes, or the quizzes posted in blogs? ;)

I mean...maybe there's a vast intellectualism backing the need to find out What Flavor of Pie You Are? that is escaping me. I've been obtuse about such things before. ;)
HarHar... i quite enjoy tickle tests.... as stupid as they are. From the outside, i'd say memetics is scientifically in the same vein as psychoanalysis... very pretty and a bit romantic on the outside, but overly reductionist and subjective at the core.

Then again, I would say the same of anything by Dawkins :lipssealed:  ...
Any chance that you would translate that into the sort of English that both you and I would understand? ;) It's one thing to say such a thing and quite another to be able to explain and justify it.

I completely agree. You can believe in evolution without swallowing all of Dawkins, who has always struck me as the atheist version of a fundamentalist.

Ah there are lots of atheist fundamentalists out there, trust me. When I started reading and posting on non believer sites I realised that.

Personally although I know that everyone has their own beliefs which are important to them, me included, I'd really like to see people get along and not hate one another for differing world views.
