Each to their own I guess :). The main thing that worries me about these people is that they tend to teach YECism which I don't personally agree with (but that's a whole other thread and besides, they are not the only movement that do) and also the ones I have encountered have been very exclusionist. Dunno if that's true of all of them.

The first believers spoke in toungues. When Constantine made Christianity the state church, it took away the basic elements of Christianity. Finally in the 16th century, Martin Luther brought to light the reality of "grace through faith". Slowly, but surely since then, more and more of the Christian elements back into the church, and this includes the infilling of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in toungues. A missionary spoke in our church a few years ago on this subject and it really opened my eyes. John Bevere also did an excellent study on the infilling of the Holy Ghost.

Hi Rosie, sorry if I've got it wrong :). I know a few pentecostals (though all from the same church, so it could be just this church) and they believe that only they have the 'correct' relationship with the holy spirit and that other denominations are unsaved. I presume that this ISN'T standard Penetecostal teaching! But it unsettles me nonetheless.

The man who lives in contact with what he believes to be a living Church is a man always expecting to meet Plato and Shakespeare tomorrow at breakfast. He is always expecting to see some truth that he has never seen before. --Chesterton
