Genesis 2 and John 9

Genesis 2 and John 9

Postby Adam » February 27th, 2007, 4:55 am

In the garden, in the presence of the Tree of Life, who is the Christ, Adam works the land.

We must work the works of God while it is day, in the presence of the light of the world, for in the night no one can work.

To be present with Christ, to be in the garden, is to be able to work.

Only in Christ can our perfection be pursued, and as we work out our faith with fear and trembling, we receive greater measures of glory, which is the Spirit of God, and that Spirit transforms us into the likeness of God.

Now the image of God is Christ.

Therefore only in the image can we be attaining the likeness.

For God said He would make man in His image and likeness, but Himself created us, through the Word, which is Christ, only in the image.

It is in the image, in the garden, that we as participators in divine creation may work, may be attaining the likeness, in order to complete God's stated desire for the activity of creation.

By our faithfulness we are restored in the image, because by our faithfulness we are in Christ, and thus restored to that place, in it we may resume our work.

To be in Christ is to again be in the garden. And when we are in the garden, only then can we begin to work.
"Love is the only art that poorly imitates nature."
