Thank you---that is good reading. This pretty much speaks for me.
I think the point that the Episcopal Church has never been a confessional church---defined by a detailed statement of doctrinal belief, like say, the Presbyterian Church (in which I grew up)---an important one.
Great quote from Augustine of Hippo, there---
Unity in essentials.
Diversity in nonessentials.
Charity in all things.
Of course, I respect conservatives for disagreeing with us on whether this upset is about "nonessentials." But there should be no doubt about the "charity in all things" part.
