How would telling people to be nice to one another get a man crucified? What government would execute Mister Rogers or Captain Kangaroo?

So much for "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone"....why is it that when a well known public icon dies that people feel compelled to vomit out slander in great multitudes? Why can't the public just let them rest in peace? If they feel the person who is deceased was in the wrong isn't it enough that they are no longer with us? Slander after a person is gone seems a bit cowardice to me.
Today I went to IKEA and hid in the wardrobes, and every time someone opened the doors I welcomed them to Narnia!!

“And turn their grief into song?" he replied. "That would be a gracious act and a good beginning."

"What are you laughing at?"
"At myself. My little puny self," said Phillipa.
