I think we're allies because our churches share the same valid apostolic succession, and reverence for the sacraments. Or, we simply share that love of Christ with our fathers were united in so long ago. (Why did west lose touch with east? I still pray for resolve.)

But, this is true. You know nothing from other sources. Almost always, when a Protestant claims to know anything about the Church, it is only from what their congregation has told them, or what they have seen on TV and which is most definitely NOT a true representation of the Church.

And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.
