L'Shanah Tovah~For a Good Year

Postby JRosemary » September 10th, 2007, 6:29 pm

Hi all!

I don't think I'll have much computer time between now and Rosh HaShanah, so I wanted to send everyone here my best wishes a little early: May you all be inscribed and sealed for a good year!

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

Yum....apples & honey  Thanks Karen!

Sven--lololol!   That's a riot.

In all seriousness, though, I love the sounding of the shofar. I had no idea how startling and moving it would be till I heard it for the first time last year. This year I'm all anticipation!

It's a lovely sound, and particularly moving when played by one of the elderly members of the congregation.

First time I heard the shofar was at the rally for developing world debt relief. It was blown by someone from one of the downtown synagogues to open the rally. Quite a notable and far reaching sound.
