this goes to a train of thought much on my mind - the /identity game of the church.
the church, in the world, takes ordinary, pagan things - plato, bread, holidays, thought- and transforms their identity to holiness. Plato's thought, his techne, is as the wine of the valleys or the bread of the plains - that which Christ came to transfigure, making it capable of bearing the Spirit
