Without getting into Salanor's wider views, it does worry me when Archbishops of Canterbury start making theological statements. I recollect the words of the son of a former Archbishop of Canterbury, the author E.F. Benson, when he said:
"An Archbishop of Canterbury is not a crusader leading his forces out to wage Holy Wars, but an administrator among whose duties it is to avoid them".
Despite what Salanor says, Williams is a nice guy, and pretty honest by the standards of public life. I just wish he'd stick to administration. He's certainly got his work cut out to prevent civil war within the Anglican communion.

"What are you laughing at?"
"At myself. My little puny self," said Phillipa.

“And turn their grief into song?" he replied. "That would be a gracious act and a good beginning."
