Surely it isn't possible to discover ontological indeterminacy. What we discover or rather fail to discover is any determinants for particular types of event. The conclusion that because we havn't discovered them they don't exist is therefore a philosophical or metaphysical one.

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.

“And turn their grief into song?" he replied. "That would be a gracious act and a good beginning."

Salanor - please re-quote your posts

Hi Salanor,
You've written an awful lot in a short space of time, and I'm trying to get my head round it. However the job is very difficult because the quotes you make from postodave and others are not always marked as such. Hence the text is disjointed: its difficult to follow what is your opinion and and what is theirs.

Please can you re-edit them so it becomes clear.

tnx

Lewis (remember him?) didn't seem to have any problem combining theism and evolution, and didn't seem to be writing for people who did have a problem with it. See THE PROBLEM OF PAIN, chapter "The Fall of Man."
