Pretty cool picture in any case, don't you think? The background coloring is especially well done -- even though parts of it look like accidental spills, they work well, I think. (And the wording is simply naively charming)

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.

It's from a Beginner's Bible coloring book...meaning it's an attempt to teach the bible through coloring pages. Now, I've read the bible cover to cover several (although it's been about 10 years since the last time), and I don't recall any mention of Jesus riding a dinosaur. Perhaps that was something newly discovered from the ancient text? Something about rapture really being interpreted as raptor? Do the new bibles have this in there?

Wow--not only is Jesus riding what appears to be a velociraptor. I see that his features are also quite Nordic.

Why do Christians so often give Jesus blond hair (and blue eyes)--as if he were a Viking? Yeah, any one of any race can be a Jew, but I find it hard to imagine a family descended from converted Nordic ancestors living in 1st century Galilee....

Yeah, Stanley--it is a cool picture. I keep wanting a raptor mount for my World of Warcraft toon, but that's awfully hard when you play Alliance and not Horde. (Horde characters come by them much more easily.)

Do you think the author of the coloring book is a World of Warcraft geek who got carried away?

At last!

I've found something worthy of getting tattooed on me!!!

*wonders if his neighborhood tattoo artist has a supply of Rapturous Red ink*

Rat! he found breath to whisper, shaking. Are you afraid?
Afraid? murmured the Rat, his eyes shining with unutterable love.
Afraid! Of Him? O, never, never! And yet -- and yet -- O, Mole, I am afraid!
Then the two animals, crouching to the earth, bowed their heads and did worship.

Alas, not a single comment on my rapture/raptor pun. *sigh*

...now I know how Stanley feels.
