Hi. dritterpunkt

http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kategorisches_Urteil

you need acrobat reader for the second link

For the englishspeaking users - the first link is a rather simple descripition of some aspects of aristotelian logic and the second is about Luthers use of logic on the psalms.
You might easily find an english sequal for the first, but good articles regarding the second theme, I only found in German and French.

I guess it is a good point that we cannot treat all the words of people with the same "speaking absolute truth" sort of perspective that is used in looking at the Bible. People say different and even contradictory things in different times and circumstances and we cannot expect their whole life to be held to a standard of logical consistency that should only be applied to a single written paper.

George MacDonald said it best for me, Mitch, in his essay The Fantastic Imagination: God never says more than He intended, man always.
"The 'great golden chain of Concord' has united the whole of Edmund Spenser's world.... Nothing is repressed; nothing is insubordinate. To read him is to grow in mental health." The Allegory Of Love (Faerie Queene)

About the link and Eddie Izzard
Okay, now I do not really know more about anything but I can understand why Reepicheep in the Movie is much more sarcastic and less chivalrous then in the books. :toothy-grin:
And regarding "strong language" If you use the f...-Word once in every minute that makes language not strong but weak and boring.
