Check out this survey over on Beliefnet to determine which religion would best suit you according to your personal beliefs. I tried it myself and Sikhism was number one on the list (100%), followed closely by Liberal Mainline Protestantism (99%). My actual religion of Roman Catholisim came in at number six.

I had to submit my survey several times before getting the results. So be patient if you want to try it.

I know this quiz has been posted before, but I can't recall if it's ever had it's own thread.

Here are some of the results from another time I took it:

1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Neo-Pagan (90%)
3. New Age (86%)
4. Mahayana Buddhism (82%)
5. Theravada Buddhism (80%)
6. Liberal Quakers (80%)
7. Secular Humanism (74%)
8. New Thought (69%)
9. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (66%)

I'm not surprised by #1 -- it seems to be a "catch all". Neo-Pagansm is something I've had interest in over the years, mostly due to my reverence of nature, but I've never researched it.

By the way, in case anybody was interested...Mormonism, the faith I was raised in and lived for 28 years, was #23 at 13%.

The only thing I dislike about Unitarian Universalism is that it is tolerant to the point of non-existance. Being open minded is a good thing. But when you are open to everything, what do you stand for? I do have an appreciation for the late Kurt Vonnegut who was associated with Unitarianism. Back in Catholic high school I was inspired by Slaughterhouse Five and other books of his. It was not untill over four years after I graduated that I was introduced to the works of C.S. Lewis by a friend. Lewis gave backbone to all the inspirational thoughts I had read about in Vonnegut's works.

Orthodox Quaker 100%?!?!?!?!?

Well .... except for the fact that I could never be a "concientous objector", I can almost see that.

I came in at 99% for "Mainline to Conservative Protestant" and at 94% for Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic.

This tells me the quiz needs some more questions.
