Into the Wardrobe

This is an interesting discussion and I decided to post because I've basically been everywhere... meaning that until i was about 15, my Christian belief determined everything, but to a point at which I was in akind of mental prison. When I was 15, I turned away from Christianity out of hurt and anger and even flirted with satanism for a while. Still, my behavior in everyday-life didn't change in a negative way. I gained a sort of mental freedom, daring to use my imagination a lot more than I used to, but I still did my best to help other people, not to hurt them, to treat people with respect and friendliness... my views of what was "good" and "bad" when it came to important things, hadn't changed (minor things changed, like it wasno longer "bad" to sleep for 30 minutes longer instead of reading the Bible in the morning, but I don't think one could call that a negative change). I know many atheists who are just as concerend who have the same views concerning behavior in everyday-life and dong good as I was and as I still am. The conclusion: Christianity didn't make me a better person and turning away from it didn't make me a bad person. These days, i don't even call myself a Christian anymore even though I still do have my personal relationship with God. I call m yself a freethinker and most people who talk to me these days wouldn't guess that I still do have a relationship with God. I'd explain it, but bit's hard to explain since it's so far away from Christianity as I used to know it and thus, i don't say anything about it. Still, I'm doing my very best to be helpful, respectful, loving, concerned and altruistic and it's actually easier than it used to be because I don't think about it anymore. While, back then, it was something I did in order to be a good Christian, these days, it's just omething I do because it has become a part of me during years of accepting and being grateful for other people's help which caused the wish to give back as much as possible.

Okay and after this long entry, I have no idea whter I actually managed to say what I wanted to say. But I'm too tired and exhausted to try and express it in a better way.
