thought i'd get a mini poll going!

1. who is your favourite character(s)?
2. what is your favourite chapter or section?
3. would you have been tempted by The Ring?
4. where in middle-earth would you like to live?
5. what is your favourite quote(s)?

my answers (please highlight text below to view):

1. gandalf
2. The Voice of Saruman
3. probably
4. Bag End
5. Gandalf: ...generous deed should not be checked by cold counsel. (ROTK V 1)

Gandalf: You cannot pass. I am the servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of
the flame of Anor. You cannot pass. The dark fire will not avail you, flame of Udun. Go back to the Shadow! You cannot pass. (FOTR II 5)

Eowyn: But no living man am I! You look upon a woman. Eowyn I am,
Eomund's daughter. You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him. (ROTK V 6)

Treebeard: Hill. Yes, that was it. But it is a hasty word for a thing that
has stood here ever since this part of the world was shaped. (TTT III 4)

Sam: Good night, Captain, my lord. You took the chance, sir.
Faramir: Did I so?
Sam: Yes sir, and showed your quality: the very highest.
Faramir: A pert servant, Master Samwise. But nay: the praise of the
praiseworthy is above all rewards. Yet there was naught in this to praise.
I had no lure or desire to do other than I have done.
Sam: Ah well, sir, you said my master had an elvish air; and that was good and true. BUt I can say this: you have an air too, sir, that reminds me of, of -- well, Gandalf, of wizards. (TTT IV 5)

Do you mean to say that you three come from a round world (round like a ball) and you've never told me!

Hi Cheeky Reep,

1. who is your favourite character(s)?
2. what is your favourite chapter or section?
3. would you have been tempted by The Ring?
4. where in middle-earth would you like to live?
5. what is your favourite quote(s)?

My answers:

1. Galadriel
2. The arrival of Frodo's ship in the Blessed Realm and Galadriel's temptation
3. No way. Truthful answer? You bet. I fear I would have failed as well.
4. Oh, three way tie: Lothlorien, Rohan or Hobbiton
5. Gandalf's speech of mercy to Frodo in The Shadow of the Past and
Galadriel's solilquay during her temptation

BTW: Is there any reason for your post to be in white? It makes reading it very difficult unless you highlight the text!

Ah! can't..... pick ...favorites....

1)Um.... To narrow it down to one I'd say Faramir but it is terribly unfair because I love them all.

2) Usually the tenth chapter of every book. Plus pretty much any chapter that involves Faramir... blah!! the whole book is my favorite part!

3) Hared to say, perhaps.

4) ooh..... Imladris! or Minas Tirith. Some where with a big library.

5) Oh there is too such long a list!!!
If you are what you should be, you will set the workd ablaze!

3. Yes, who wasn't?
4. Dol Amroth -- no one really knows what it's like
5. TIE: "Do not meddle in the affairs of Wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger!" And: "Well, I'm back..."
