John Howe Artwork

Postby A#minor » September 16th, 2005, 5:54 pm

John Howe. Isn't his artwork just amazing? It looks so real and moving and vital! Not cartooney like some of the Tolkien illustrators. Didn't he do some work with the movies too?

However I'm not really pleased with his Treebeard. But then no representation has ever lived up to my idea of Treebeard.

Anyway, here's a link to some of his most lovely paintings. Enjoy.

It was Alan Lee that worked with the movies also. I don't like his artwork as much b/c his colors are so bland, although the detail in his paintings is remarkable.

WOW!!! Those pics are absolutely wonderful. I saved the one of Galadriel because she is my favorite character.

Do you mean to say that you three come from a round world (round like a ball) and you've never told me!
