silly-marillion?

Postby A#minor » October 14th, 2005, 12:45 am

Have you guys seen book? I sort of want to read it just to see if it's funny, but then the other half of me is disgusted. The purist part of me is appalled.
Has anybody read it?

I thought parts of it were very funny, but some parts I didn't get (or were really lame). If you have it at your library give it a go, but otherwise, no!

  I am so sorry!!I am new to technology plus an obsessive Tolkien admirer. Any critique(imagined or real) of this great man flames my blood. It took me a while to find out what 'link' you were referring to. Having found it, I am completely embarrassed. I do sincerely apologize :)sorry!

Per the Silly-marillion, I saw a copy at a bookstore and thumbed through it a little bit. It is, indeed, of the same genre as the Harvard Lampoon own now-near-classic Bored of the Rings, which, in spite of all my devotion to Tolkien, I did find rather funny. For some reason, at least after the short look at Silly-marillion, it didn't seem to grab either my attention or humor in the same way that Bored did.

I found Bored of the Rings pretty funny myself. I think I might pick this up.

By the time they came for me, I had all the support a man could ask for.”
