I would also add that, in my opinion, GKC doesn't get enough credit for forgiving his enemies - the Isaac brothers and their connection with the Marconi scandal, and for forcing the libel case against Cecil Chesterton, resulting in his ruin and consequent decision to go off to the war, where he was killed. GKC continued to be fair and honorable to them in print, and even though it must have been very hard to forgive them, it is evident that he did so. One of the two even converted to Catholicism shortly before his death (I forget which one at the moment).

It's just that a lot of what GKC says which is wrongly construed as anti-semitism stems from his ruminations on the implications of the Isaac brothers' actions.
