Peter Kreeft podcast

Postby bruce n h » October 10th, 2008, 2:35 pm

Hi all,

I hope this is the appropriate place for a note about someone who didn't influence Lewis but was highly influenced by him. Probably most here are aware of Peter Kreeft, professor of philosophy at Boston College and author of a large number of books and articles, many about Lewis (and Tolkien). I found that he has several lectures posted online for free. You can either get them by going to the iTunes Store and searching for "kreeft", or go to his personal site at and download them there. There are 36 lectures. Several of these are explicitly about Lewis, and almost every one includes some quotations or insights from Lewis. Anyway, I've been listening to these and highly enjoying them.

"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best -- " and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.

…on a night of rain Frodo smelled a sweet fragrance on the air and heard the sound of singing that came over the water. And then it seemed to him that as in his dream in the house of Bombadil, the grey rain-curtain turned all to silver glass and was rolled back, and he beheld white shores and beyond them a fair green country under a swift sunrise.
