Sigurd and Guðrun

"Sigurd and Guðrun", published this week, is an early attempt by Tolkien to fill in a couple of gaps in the Norse sagas about the Volsungs. It consists of a couple of verse fragments, with commentary by Christopher Tolkien. If you liked The Children of Hurin, you'll probably quite like this - but generally speaking, its main interest is for those already reasonably familiar with this saga world. Nothing to do with Middle-earth; this is Tolkien as major scholar of Old Norse.
