Lewis Convention in Nashville?

Postby Wixenstyx » February 1st, 2005, 11:01 pm

I was pretty excited to learn about the "Past Watchful Dragons:Fantasy and Faith in the World of C. S. Lewis" conference to be held at Belmont College in Nashville. I've been to the Belmont College site, but aside from a call for papers to be presented at the conference, there isn't much information. Having never attended such a conference before now, I wondered if any of you:

A) Has been to similar conferences, and could tell me what to expect there?
B) Knows about what a conference like this costs to attend?
C) Knows how I could get more information on the conference?

For those who hadn't heard of it, Belmont's website for the conference is:

Also, is anyone else thinking of attending? I'm in St. Louis, so it's not terribly far from where I am. Makes going a real possibility.

The C.S. Lewis Foundation is having a conference at The Cove in Asheville, North Carolina. This is within an hour of where I live, but too expensive for me.

I'm going to aplogoze in advance for this posting, as it has absolutely nothing to do with the thread. I just wanted to tell Wixenstyx that I appreciate him labelling St. Louis as "The Holy City," as I am very Lutheran and will probably be moving there in a little over a year when my boyfriend goes to seminary.
As far as conferences go, I was wondering how people find out about these things? I always seem to find out about the great conferences that are near by after the fact.

Your link didn't work for me. I'm going to look into it further, because I'm about 45 minutes from Belmont College. Finally something close by--woohoo!

The official website for the Past Watchful Dragons conference at Belmont U. in Nashville will be up and ready for registration in a few weeks. I'm very excited about this conference. It is intended to include a mixture of talks, music, and the arts.
Check that same website address in a few weeks and you'll find the costs, registration info, etc.

There was a boy named Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved it.
