Hi there -

The quote sounds similiar to a couple of the lines from the film Shadowlands, which would not necessarily mean it was something that Lewis wrote himself. If he did write it, it would most likely be found in A Grief Observed.

I'm not sure of this and don't have time to check it out right now, but you might also look in The Problem of Pain. A great deal of the dialogue in Shadowlands seems to reflect that book.
