I just find it endlessy funny, in a horrible, disgusting sort of way, that Pullman actually refers to the writings of Lewis as propaganda.
If anybody's ugly, hateful, life hating and poisonous, I'm thinking Pullman's got to be the one. Not to mention a contemptuous bigot, but now I'm just feeling mean and contemptuous myself.
What's he so scared of, one must wonder? Did Narnia stir something in him that he wants dead so badly?
Or is he, indeed, simply trying to capitalize?
The really amazing thing is how much weight has been given to Pullman's educated opinions by so many... His trilogy is interesting and decently written, but everything he glorifies so much in word just seems so bleak and pointless and bitter. Just left an ill feeling of... emptiness.
“He that but looketh on a plate of ham and eggs to lust after it hath already committed breakfast with it in his heart”
-C.S. Lewis
